As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. how do u do this.. with so many layers..
i'd really appreciate some pointers.. u use photo reference.. but how do u define all the specific areas? i used to posterize in photoshop to help...
but urs seems so much more intricate..
really would appreciate ur comments.. sick of my undetailed work..

You're only jealous because the voices in my head only speak to me...
I generally just judge by eye where I should shade, but I used to use the posterize filter a lot. I use shapes set to multiply and around 10-20% transparency to start with, and then as I move to darker areas I'll increase it to about 40%.
I hope this helped, but I suck at explaining things.
